Laree's Remembrances of Frant

I was nine when Pop died. I remember being startled that they would shoot guns at a gravesite, not understanding that it was a salute to his service.

A fond memory I have of Pop is pushing me in the swing near the cherry tree in his backyard on Mayfair Circle. He's the first person I remember pushing me and saying, "you get away from me--hey, you get back here--I said get away from me,--come back here right now" as he pushed me. I later remember my father playing that game, and I have done it with my kids and my grandkids and young friends and kids I taught in pre-school and...it always gets giggles.

Mom and Pop were so tied to the Cedar First ward, that when they moved into the Cedar Third ward boundaries, "they felt tied" to the First Ward and wouldn't change.
