Francis' Story About His Pets
03/15/08 19:58
Francis was very fond of all his pets and talked
about them a lot. In “Reminiscences of Frant and
Annie Esplin”, he wrote a story about them. This
story has been added on his page. At the bottom
of this story is a page from the Utah Brand
Registry book showing his
Brand.

Lots of Content added
03/09/08 20:46
Since I have started adding quite a bit of
content, I am not going to burden the cousins
with update e-mails every time I add something
new, only when something really fun is added. As
was my intention all along, I am going to start
backtracking now and fill in some of the
information on Frant and Annie before I start
adding more on the more distant ancestors.
Although I enjoy researching, I prefer input from
others too. The more input I have, the more fun
this site will be.
This does not mean that there is no information about or ancestors. I have contact with a relative in New Zealand who is also a descendant of James and Margaret Esplin. James and Margaret were the parents of John, married to Margaret, parent of John James married to Harriet, father of Francis. This contact has provided me with photos and information on the siblings of Francis’ grandfather John. As is the case with all photos, even before they are on the website they can all be located in the web gallery.
Laree and Ron also have had contact with a promising new resource with lots of information on more distant ancestors. We hope to someday soon be able to share some of his information. There’s a lot more going on in the background than you’re seeing on these pages. Hopefully it will all be added eventually.
Added a story on Gordon’s page about a wagon accident that Frant surmises to be the probable cause of his prematurity.
Added Annie’s Story of Gordon’s birth.
Added a poem written by Annie probably on the occasion of their 50th anniversary.

Information on John James Esplin
03/07/08 20:48
Have added lots of information on John James
Esplin.
The story of his death by hit and run driver is interesting, and is touched upon in his life sketch by his daughter, Clara Esplin Spencer. John’s life story also tells some interesting information about his father John as well as some detail as to some of Francis’ siblings early deaths. I have discovered that John James was interviewed by Kimball Young in 1935 (about a year and a half before his death). The notes and a sketch of John James are housed in the Garrett Theological Seminary Library at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. My daughter is going to contact the library next week in an attempt to obtain copies of this information. The things are copyrighted and I am not sure if we will be allowed to publish them when we obtain them, but if I get them, they will be available in my collections for anyone who wants to look at them.
